Wow, it's been a long time since I've been on here and updated anything! Today I changed the dates for my 2016 Shows. Same ones as last year. New Germany and Bedford Fall Foliage are the only ones I do now. I struggle all year to find the time to sew as much as I want to. It always seems like something is going on! I need to make more time to create!

Spring??

The calendar may say it's spring, Mother Nature didn't get the memo. Looking at snow again today. When will it end? Depressing!

Where Bloggers Create 2013

Just a little late to the party...I had it in my head to upload the pictures on Friday for Saturday? Not sure where I got that, but I am a day late. Here we go...

I haven't really changed a whole lot since last year. Mostly just moving things here and there and hiding things I don't want to look at. I really wish my rooms looked like this all the time, but when I sew I am messy. I tend to start multiple projects at one time and have them piled up and spread all over the rooms. I cut or trace 6-8 of one pattern at a time, move on to another and cut or trace those before I start sewing and tea staining all of them. Those all go in a pile before I start stuffing and get ready to put them together. Not a great system, but that's how I do it. I actually started sewing for my shows earlier this year instead of waiting till the month before! Hid all the body parts and mess for the blogger party. Have to drag it all out tomorrow.

I love antique photos and old purses!

love this spot the best!
Hoarder Central! Wow that's a lot of stuff
Wall to wall and floor to ceiling
I need all of it, really!
Now that looks like extreme hoarding!

Farewell till next year!

Well, that concludes the tour of my sewing rooms for this year. As usual this was done with little or no help from my 2 digital cameras, my iphone and ipad, laptop and most of all blogger.  Just lost the entire post for 20 minutes, but retrieved it from drafts. Shouldn't be this stressful to put some pictures on a blog!! But like my brother, Rog always tells me it's probably OE....operator error!  Hope you enjoyed checking out my cluttered spaces and a big Thank you to Karen at My Dessert Cottage for doing this every year!!

I got my dates wrong and didn't get my pictures loaded yet for Where Bloggers Create!!!!!  I am working on them now....check back later today. Sorry I'm late!

Dad

I have been away for quite a while because things have been hectic around here.
Since Christmas, my Dad had been having difficult breathing issues and we were really worried about him. After lots of Dr. appts and testing, he had to have a second open heart surgery. It was on March 7 and Mandy and I flew to FL with my brother, Rog to be with our parents. He had the surgery then had a really good day after. But, he developed metabolic acidosis and took a turn for the worse......We lost Dad on March10.
Such a SHOCK to us all. Dad was always busy and ready to help anyone do anything. He never like to sit still, always moving. Even though they lived in Florida, we talked multiple times a day. So close to him. It's hard to understand that we will never see him again. Just can't wrap my head around losing him. Don't know when it will sink in?

 I love you, Dad!

AWOL

I have been AWOL on here since Thanksgiving! Still spending too much computer, tablet and iPhone time on Pinterest!! I have found so many great things there. I have been baking and cooking more because of it!  BUT, time to get into cleaning  and organizing the house and sewing rooms!  Actually, got my bathroom closet reorganized today. Yeah! More closets tomorrow!

Halloween Decorating

Just started some Halloween decorating, since I finished my show this past weekend. I am behind everyone this year. Still didn't get pumpkins yet or do all my outside decorating! I was busy making decorations to sell! Got my blog done in Halloween, LOTS left to do! I will post some pictures of my Bedford show later.

(This is my favorite Halloween picture)

Getting there...

Well, I'm still in the M's in the Where Bloggers Create list and still have a long way to go. It's been fun checking out everyone's spaces. So many creative people out there. I had been spending all my time on Pinterest and now it's the WBC site. Really got some great ideas in storage and decorating. A BIG thank you to Karen Valentine for doing this for everyone. Great job, Karen!

Where Bloggers Create 2012...

Oh my, has it been a year already? Wow, time flies! Not a lot has changed in my sewing rooms. I still didn't paint the cupboard white and antique it. Maybe in the winter I can get to it.

I always wait to the last minute to take pictures (10:00PM) the night before! Ridiculous! Our camera is not working too great and I think we are going to have to get a new one. So I took pictures with the blurry camera, my tablet and my iphone! Not sure how the pictures will turn out? So with that said....my sewing rooms...

This is my cutting work table,
It's a Singer table I got at a sale for $3.00!
Another view of cutting room. Space is at a premium here
and I have to stack and store everywhere.
I made the jelly cabinet years ago at a cabinet making class.
Cutting table
Singer table
This cabinet stores some of my fabric. Not organized right now.
Upholstery Singer (got at an auction)
The one who dies with the most fabric wins, right?
 I'm in the running!!
I love this old dress, it's in pretty bad condition,
but I don't care, It's still beautiful to me!

My sewing room, not too much of a change since last year.
My husband built my counters for me!
Another sewing machine under the cover.
The cover was too big for this machine so I folded the bottom up
and pinned it to make pockets for scissors and supplies.
The other one is a serger.

Love antique photos!
I finally got organized by making tags for all my storage boxes
instead of just trying to remember where things are.
Collection of sewing items and Singer items.
This is my new storage system...suitcases. It is a great idea and I love how it looks, but when I need the bottom case, it's a chore. My chair cover is an old buggy blanket.
Got them all tagged.
I had this old clock case for years and then it hit me...  Who needs a clock when you can have an interesting display shelf!

All my thimbles and small goodies!

My workbench, where I do all my gluing and finishing.

Newest acquisition... Singer made in Great Britain.
I found it on our recent trip to Scotland.
It's marked Made in Great Britain. Love it!

Another view of workbench
Singer Collection
This isn't too pretty here, but I need the plastic shoe boxes for storage. Wish they were nicer.I collect sewing baskets and hang them from the ceiling. The black case on the shelf is from my Featherweight.

My singer Featherweight and pincushions. Kinda bad photo,
but I took it late at night.

Dress form and thread candlestick
This is my 160th Anniversary Singer, I also have the 150th Anniversary, too. This one has a much larger sewing table. Runs smooth.

Well, I think that concludes the tour of my sewing rooms. I had difficulty with the picture taking and  blogging. But, I got it finished. I almost lost everything a couple minutes ago! Scary! I hope you enjoy looking. It's a bit cluttered and messy, but it's where I create.
I'm off to look at all the other rooms!
