Where Bloggers Create 2012...

Oh my, has it been a year already? Wow, time flies! Not a lot has changed in my sewing rooms. I still didn't paint the cupboard white and antique it. Maybe in the winter I can get to it.

I always wait to the last minute to take pictures (10:00PM) the night before! Ridiculous! Our camera is not working too great and I think we are going to have to get a new one. So I took pictures with the blurry camera, my tablet and my iphone! Not sure how the pictures will turn out? So with that said....my sewing rooms...

This is my cutting work table,
It's a Singer table I got at a sale for $3.00!
Another view of cutting room. Space is at a premium here
and I have to stack and store everywhere.
I made the jelly cabinet years ago at a cabinet making class.
Cutting table
Singer table
This cabinet stores some of my fabric. Not organized right now.
Upholstery Singer (got at an auction)
The one who dies with the most fabric wins, right?
 I'm in the running!!
I love this old dress, it's in pretty bad condition,
but I don't care, It's still beautiful to me!

My sewing room, not too much of a change since last year.
My husband built my counters for me!
Another sewing machine under the cover.
The cover was too big for this machine so I folded the bottom up
and pinned it to make pockets for scissors and supplies.
The other one is a serger.

Love antique photos!
I finally got organized by making tags for all my storage boxes
instead of just trying to remember where things are.
Collection of sewing items and Singer items.
This is my new storage system...suitcases. It is a great idea and I love how it looks, but when I need the bottom case, it's a chore. My chair cover is an old buggy blanket.
Got them all tagged.
I had this old clock case for years and then it hit me...  Who needs a clock when you can have an interesting display shelf!

All my thimbles and small goodies!

My workbench, where I do all my gluing and finishing.

Newest acquisition... Singer made in Great Britain.
I found it on our recent trip to Scotland.
It's marked Made in Great Britain. Love it!

Another view of workbench
Singer Collection
This isn't too pretty here, but I need the plastic shoe boxes for storage. Wish they were nicer.I collect sewing baskets and hang them from the ceiling. The black case on the shelf is from my Featherweight.

My singer Featherweight and pincushions. Kinda bad photo,
but I took it late at night.

Dress form and thread candlestick
This is my 160th Anniversary Singer, I also have the 150th Anniversary, too. This one has a much larger sewing table. Runs smooth.

Well, I think that concludes the tour of my sewing rooms. I had difficulty with the picture taking and  blogging. But, I got it finished. I almost lost everything a couple minutes ago! Scary! I hope you enjoy looking. It's a bit cluttered and messy, but it's where I create.
I'm off to look at all the other rooms!

Love your room again this year!! I'm in love with sewing items, notions, yes anything...and so of course I love your room!
The 160 is on my wishlist...and will probably stay on there..I can't justify the purchase because I don't sew very much. BUT..I love the way it looks....can't I just look at it!??
I think when my birthmother gave me her little Singer machine that it made it all come together for me. We both love sewing and all the stuff associated with sewing...whether with machines or by hand. Thus the collections have taken over!
So glad you shared your room again..I'm inspired by your lovelies!!
Blessings, Doni

Love all your sewing machines, Debbie! There is some history there with a few, I'm sure. Love the giant scissors. I saw a pair I would have loved to get, but I'm short on wall space. Maybe if I move things around a little. It looks like you've got everything set up just right for you to work and create in here. Thanks for the tour!

OOOoohh, AAAaahhh! I love that you have some color. Your space is beautiful - a little like walking back in time which I find suits me wonderfully. I love that you have more than one sewing maching - I say the orphans just seem to find me:) I am hoping to participate in 'where bloggers create' next year. Just couldn't make it happen this year. I am so glad you did. I love, love, love your space.

Feel free to check out my blog too. It's funny how those with similar tastes are 'threaded' together through blogging. Thank you for sharing.

I love all your Singers, the antique dress is beautiful, and what a good idea for a clock case! I have a toy sewing machine from my childhood that really worked, but my father cut the cord off so I wouldn't sew my finger. It was one of those old striped cloth cords. Thanks for the tour - I really enjoyed it!

Oh Debbie, how beautiful it all is. I hardly know where to begin commenting. . . I LOVE all the Singers, the machines and the notions as well! I also adore old suitcases, so your collection made me swoon. They are great for storage and so pretty to look at too. Your fabric stash is fantastic and I am quite jealous. You have such a warm and inviting room (or should I say rooms) that make me want to make a cup of tea and sit and visit and create with you!

Thank you so much for sharing your space with all of us. I thoroughly enjoyed it and appreciate you taking the time.
