Tree with antiques

Just a couple pictures of one of my trees. I decorated this tree using an old lock with keys, gloves, old jewelry, daguerreotypes, silverware, and a couple old pens, silver case, baby shoes, old spectacles and an old celluloid fan. I  used a bowler hat on the top. My husband's antique guns on wall behind tree. Just all antiques!

Chistmas decorating

Well, I have the new decorations up on this blog, so it's time to get the house finished. Going slow this year, not really sure why. It's snowing today, but still doesn't seem like the holiday season to me? I need to kick it in gear and get moving!

New addiction!

I am now totally addicted to Pinterest! So fab! Great site to keep ideas, pictures, recipes...everything that you love. I've got lots of pins and boards already. Hope there isn't a limit on how much you can pin! I have a link at the bottom left of my page.

Changes

I guess I really like to change things! Now that I figured out how to make my own backgrounds, I 'll be changing them alot! It's from a picture of an old frame I found online. I collect (hoard) old picture frames also!

The Great Pumpkin!

A couple of posts ago, I said I made a BIG giant pumpkin and I hoped it would sell... it sure did! The new owner is Megann, one of my best customers at Bedford Fall Foliage. This a picture of all of us togther. That's Me, Rick and Will holding it and Megann, Soren and my hubby, Tom. Got this picture from Megann's blog.

Annoyed!

Annoyed with the other divider, so I tried another. This one is better, but I still have a problem with cutting out in photoshop and having clean edges! Don't know what the issue is. I need more tutorials on Adobe.

Backgrounds

Well, today I decided to try my hand at making my own background! It's been an adventure! Found the directions online and gave it a go...Lot's of trial and error. The banner was no problem, but it was a little tricky getting the background to be the right size and show my typing right. Lot's of adjustments. Then, I thought, what the hey, might as well make a divider, too. More problems! I had trouble getting it the right size and my images weren't crisp enough, had to redo them. To top it off when I went to upload to photo bucket, it's too busy for me or something. It won't load or let me upload! I could scream! Have to try again later. I'm going to try my divider on this post...

Saw the preview for the divider and it needs more work. DARN!

Spool cabinets

I just recently found 3 more spool cabinets! Score! Auctions and and Antique stores, yea! I only have pictures of 2 so far.


Someone painted this one, but I still love it.

This one has a leather covered top that lifts. It's a little desk top and it has a space for an inkwell. Love, Love, Love!

Next show

New Germany is over and now it's on to Bedford! Lot's of stuff happening this week. My parents left for Florida after being here for 2 months, miss them already! Drs. appts., funeral home, cleaning, sewing, And always commotion! Life never slows down.

Fall show is coming!

My first fall show is coming next week! Still have LOTS to do! I really don't know where the summer went. I never seem to have enough time to get everthing finished. Body parts are strewn about and I need a CSI team to get it all sorted out. What ever I have finished will go and the rest will have to wait for the October show...

My best Singer

I didn't include pictures of my favorite Singer sewing machine in my posts for "Where Bloggers Create", I had it under the sewing counter area,  so here it is ...

I love the hand crank!

Starting to work on things for my upcoming shows. I made a GIANT pumpkin from upholstery fabric! Hope someone has room for it! And working on black wool felt pumpkins, too. Shoe pin keeps and Victorian ladies are started on my sewing table.

Well, I learned a lot this past week. Since putting my pictures on for "Where Bloggers Create" I have so many new ideas for my sewing area and my blog. A lot of things I wish I had done differently about my post, too.... Like add more info under my pictures and make the pictures bigger! And I finally added a followers widget. But live and learn. It will be better next year.

One thing that was wonderful,  I found some new blog friends! That was a real treat! In fact one of them, Lovey has written a beautiful book and I just purchased a copy! The images she uses in her collages are antique ladies and they are stunning. She has pictures and tutorials in the book. Can't wait until it gets here. It looks so rich and colorful.

My husband made the sewing tables for me with machines built in. I usually keep beige thread in the Izek and black in the other Singer. The futuristic Izek Singer is a 150th Anniversary machine that uses a Game boy for the stitch functions.

My husband found this 4 drawer spool cabinet for me, it was painted totally black and he stripped it down and when we found the words were still on, I screamed. The other one we found at a fleatique!

 I made the lamp shade for the Singer Lamp. Going to "antique" the Hoosier soon, too white!

My Desert Cottage

Not much time till my first show of the year! It's this Saturday! Lots to do this week! It's a girls weekend with my BF, Sandy and I can't wait!

Back to sewing as of today! Yea! Got a couple things done!

Just added the shows I will be doing this year (as long as I get in to all of them!) Took me a while to figure out how to add the links to the websites. Last year I had them on, but you couldn't click and go to them. I thought they worked automatically when you typed the address! Nothing works automatically on my blog! I don't know how all this blogger stuff operates. Just a computer dork! I type everything in on the search engines and try to follow the directions. It takes a while!!

I know it has been awhile since my Bedford Fall FoliageShow, but I decided to put my pictures on anyway. Things get crazy with the holidays and I get forgetful. But, I was working with Photoshop, trying out different things and I am hooked on these dag frames. So here's a few from October 2010 Bedford...
